First Friday Art Walk
First Friday of every month, 5 – 9 p.m. at Plaza de la Constitucion
On the first Friday of every month, St. Augustine’s art galleries welcome visitors to browse the latest art exhibits and enjoy refreshments and live entertainment at some 30 participating galleries.
This cooperative open house showcases the amazing variety of artwork represented in St. Augustine’s fine art galleries, from contemporary to traditional and everything in between, created by local and national artists working in oils, pastels, photography, ceramics, wood, textiles, metal, and much more. For a full list of participating galleries, see the table below.
The galleries set out food and wine and other goodies on First Friday Art Walk, and many of the featured artists are on hand to answer questions about their work. The monthly event takes place on the first Friday of every month from 5 – 9 p.m., rain or shine, throughout St. Augustine's historic downtown area, from Aviles to King Streets, St. George Street and more -- even over the Bridge of Lions onto Anastasia Island and the beach.
Call (832) 779-2781 for more information or visit here. This creative event is sponsored by The Art Galleries of Saint Augustine, which is an artistic association of the diverse and eclectic art galleries located in the nation's oldest city.

Coming up at the next First Friday Art Walk on Oct. 7, 2016:
The Art Studio of St. Augustine Beach will host a reception from 5 to 8:30 p.m. for their featured October artist and Art Studio member, Kathe Kokolias. Kathe works in a variety of media -- acrylics, oils, collage, and experimental watercolor. Her work will be on display through the end of October. The Art Studio of St. Augustine Beach is open Monday through Friday from noon to 4 p.m.
The Plum Gallery at 10 Aviles Street will have a reception for the two artists they will be featuring in October -- Sara Pedigo and Barbara J. Cornett. Flagler College Associate Professor Sara Pedigo captures the shifting light and shadows in her intimate portraits of places in her paintings (see photo below). Her work has been featured nationally. Barbara J. Cornett creates imaginative found object assemblages that "evoke a sense of nostalgia and whimsy."
