First Friday Art Walk
First Friday of every month
On the first Friday of every month, St. Augustine’s art galleries welcome visitors to browse the latest art exhibits and enjoy refreshments and live entertainment at some 30 participating galleries.
This cooperative open house showcases the amazing variety of artwork represented in St. Augustine’s fine art galleries, from contemporary to traditional and everything in between, created by local and national artists working in oils, pastels, photography, ceramics, wood, textiles, metal, and much more. For a full list of participating galleries, see the table below.
The galleries set out food and wine and other goodies on First Friday Art Walk, and many of the featured artists are on hand to answer questions about their work. The monthly event takes place on the first Friday of every month from 5 – 9 p.m., rain or shine, throughout St. Augustine's historic downtown area, from Aviles to King Streets, St. George Street and more -- even over the Bridge of Lions onto Anastasia Island and the beach.

Coming Up at the Next First Friday Art Walk:
February 6, 2015
Amiro Art and Design will introduce their lineup of artists at February’s Art Walk. St. Augustine artist David Ouellette’s sensual and gestural enamel paintings will be highlighted, as will Estella Fransbergen’s unique clay torso sculptures and Candone Wharton’s sculptural raku clay. Also on exhibit will be Jan Tomlinson Master’s charred-wood installation, Jay Canterbury’s unique photographs, and new paintings by New Orleans artist Matteo Neivert. And for that perfect Valentine’s Day gift, Amiro Art & Design offers the remarkably delicate and whimsical jewelry of Gabrielle Gould, as well as Tracey Womack’s ocean-themed ornaments and lampworked glass jewelry.
The gallery will offer samples of “Spritzer Cocktails” from the St. Augustine Distillery at the February 2015 Art Walk. Amiro Art & Design is located at 9 Aviles St. in St. Augustine’s “Original Art District.”
Amiro Art & Found (9C Aviles St.) will be toasting featured guest artists Heather Hall and Lori Hammer with a complimentary glass of wine on the Art Walk on February 6, 2015.
Massachusetts fiber artist Heather Hall will display her fabulous felted silk wearable art, including one-of-a-kind hats, clothing, and accessories that are made with the finest wool, silk and other natural fibers, all sourced locally from independent, small-scale merchants. Inspired by the idea that good design is essential to everyday living, Heather Hall gives a modern context to age-old textile and felting techniques.
Jacksonville artist Lori Hammer will exhibit her array of designer jewelry to add to her BoHo Boulevard Collection. Lori Hammer artfully juxtaposes styles and textures to create her vintage and modern pieces, making use of such unusual materials as fish leather, old jewelry remnants, fabric, trim and even watch parts.
