The World Golf Village Hall of Fame presents "Honoring the Legacy: A Tribute to African-Americans in Golf," a special exhibit of rare artifacts that highlight the involvement of African-American players in the wider context of the sport.

Developed in conjunction with PGA of America, the PGA Tour, and the USGA, the exhibit features interactive touch-screen displays, photographs, audio, video and other memorabilia of the men that broke the color barrier in golf. Notable artifacts include Charlie Siffor's 1960 PGA Player card and items from players like Calvin Peete.

A ladder sculpture represents and celebrates various African-American golfers, with a visual timeline that showcases the pioneers from the late 19th century through the present. For artist Mario Chiodo, his sculpture is a statement of social justice and humanity, demonstrating the obstacles and challenges African Americans have experienced. The ladder sculpture begins with John Shippen, the first African American to play in the U.S. Open. Chiodo left the last rung of the ladder open, in a symbolical gesture towards the future for African Americans in the sport of golf.
