Woman's Exchange Spring Luncheons 2020

The Woman's Exchange will host their twice-weekly Spring Luncheons on Tuesdays and Fridays from March 17 to March 31, 2020.  Specific dates are: Tuesday, March 17; Friday, March 20; Tuesday, April 24; Friday, March 27, and Friday, March 31, 2020.

The luncheons take place at noon in the gardens of the historic Peña-Peck House Museum, and guests are welcome to browse in the Exchange Shop and Miss Anna's Emporium either before (beginning at 10:30 a.m.) or after the meal, which begins at noon.

The Spring Luncheons are a St. Augustine tradition, going back to the late 1940s, when local hotels reopened for tourists after World War II. The weekly luncheons at the Peña-Peck House became popular with visitors, both for the lovely garden atmosphere and the delicious food. The setting remains as beautiful as ever, and so does the food — in fact, most of the dishes on the menu are made with original recipes.

The Exchange shops feature hand-crafted products made by women from across the country, as they have been doing since 1892, when the National Federation of Woman's Exchanges first encouraged them as a venue for hand crafters to sell their products. Seventy percent of the item sales go directly to the crafters, and the rest is used to maintain and promote the historic Peña-Peck House Museum. Some of the proceeds are also used to provide scholarships for women returning to school for career changes.

Reservations sell out quickly and will open two months before the date of the first luncheon. Reservations can be made either in person at the shop (which opens at 10:30 a.m.) or by phone at (904) 829-5064.

Admission: The cost of the luncheon is $31.95, which includes tea or coffee and dessert, plus a $5 coupon to use in the Exchange shops.
