Coronavirus Update: The Castillo de San Marcos has suspended operations in response to the COVID-19 virus outbreak. This includes access to the Castillo and all special events scheduled for the next few weeks.

The Castillo de San Marcos presents "Women's Work: Keeping the Colony Alive" on Saturday, March 28, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event focuses on the role that women have played in the various eras of St. Augustine's diverse history, and is presented by the National Park Service as part of Women's History Month.

There will be demonstrations of spinning, sewing, and the many other crafts and skills that women used to keep the colony going. Several significant women from St. Augustine's history will be portrayed by reenactors.

The Castillo de San Marcos National Monument is the oldest stone fortification in the United States. The park offers candlelight tours monthly to allow visitors to take in the special beauty of the Castillo at night.

Admission: Tickets are $15 for adults aged 16 and older and free for children 15 and under.

When: Saturday, March 28, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Where: The Castillo de San Marcos is located at 1 S. Castillo Dr. in historic St. Augustine.
