  • Aunt Kate's is wonderful seafood restaurant located on the banks of the Tolomato River in St. Augustine, Florida. Continuing a hundred year tradition of the Usina Family in St. Augustine, Aunt Kate's provides fresh local seafood with Minorcan family roots. Sited in a grove of live oaks you can dine on the outside decks under the trees or inside in either the main dining room or at the Victory bar. Aunt Kate's offers outstanding family dining on the water. Specializing in seafood, this restaurants menu includes steamed oysters, peel 'n eat shrimp, fresh salad, great soups, a terrific steak and blackened chicken. There is something here to suit all pallets! This is one of the few restaurants in St. Augustine that you can go to by boat. Tie up at Aunt Kate's floating dock and come have dinner. By car, Aunt Kate's is located on Vilano Beach, north on A1A inside North Beach Camping Resort. Happy hour 5pm-6pm in the bar

I ate lunch at Kate's and sat under the beautiful big trees right along the water's edge with three of my girlfriends. The food was great and this would be a wonderful place to eat and watch the sun set!

What a great restaurant! We thought it might be some sort of shack along the river, but this place is modern and quite large. A huge deck outside (I mean huge) and a big restaurant inside. Great views..but the food is fabulous. I had the Broiled Seafood platter. Everything and I mean everything was fixed to perfection...moist and done just right...from the maji maji, crabcake and scallops to the shrimp. This may have been the absolute best seafood platter I have ever eaten...and I should know, having spent 25-years near Boston. My wife had a wonderful Spring Salad, full of pecans and dried cranberries. What a dining experience!

I just want to thank Candy and the staff at Aunt Kate's for the excellent customer service last week. The Retired Educators of Bibb County, Georgia truly enjoyed themselves. We will be back! Tobbie Jefferson - Group Destination Manager

Hubby and I wasted $45 on a nasty lunch. The complimentary 'Datil' cornbread was dry, crumbly and cold. The crab cakes were bland and had to be returned because they were sopping wet and raw in the middle. They were replaced and dropped off at the edge of the table, without a comment; new cakes were burnt. The fried shrimp were edible but not especially tasty. The salad 'greens' consisted of iceberg lettuce, one cucumber slice and they were out of tomatoes. Complained three times without an offer of substitution or an apology and never a glimpse of management. Blah service, tasteless food. The view is not worth it.

I am a new resident here in St. Augustine and my first visit to Aunt Kate's. What a treat it was. The service was wonderful. The food was great and a good dollar value. Will Be back!
