Dow Museum of Historic Houses
On one city block, discover over 400 years of history. Hidden among beautiful courtyards are 9 historic houses original to the site that date back from 1790 to 1910. Inside you'll find exhibits reflecting St. Augustine history and a lifetime of collecting by museum benefactor, Kenneth W. Dow. Visitors to the museum can learn about the lives of the original occupants placed in context within the greater story of the development of Florida. Watch as Florida's history from the Colonial to the Territorial Period, and from Statehood to the Flagler Era come alive!
The museum is operated by the Museum of Arts & Sciences in Daytona Beach. Museum entrance is on the corner of Cordova & Bridge Streets. The Dow Museum offers many customized group activities such as history scavenger hunts, architecture classes, garden classes and guided tours. Adults are $8.95, seniors $7.95, students are $6.95 and children 5 and under are free! Come enjoy the history of St. Augustine at the Dow Museum of Historic Houses.
