Whetstone Chocolate Factory
Whetstone Chocolate Factory began as a small, family-run ice cream parlor in 1966, today known as Tedi's Olde Tyme Ice Cream located in the historic district of St. Augustine. Now they have branched out to multiple Whetstone Chocolates locations, including this one and the historic downtown location on St. George Street.
Founders Henry and Esther Whetstone began creating delicious chocolates and fudge creations in their home kitchen at night, and after cornering the ice cream market, the couple embarked on creating a chocolate brand. Their commitment to quality and enduring work ethic led to one of St Augustine's greatest success stories, as Whetstone Chocolates and the Whetstone Chocolate Factory was born in St Augustine, Florida.
Today the Chocolate Factory Store in historic downtown offers their wide variety of fresh and delicious chocolates, as well as tours of the factory. A maximum of 25 people are allowed on tours so it is recommended to call for reservations. Chocolate lovers from all over the country come to St. Augustine to experience the luscious chocolate created by the Whetstone Chocolatiers. Explore the business of making and tasting decadent desserts.
