The Art Galleries of St. Augustine will celebrate the historic founding of the nation's oldest city with a special "450 Minutes of Art Walk" on Friday, September 4, 2015.

The First Friday Art Walk will expand its normal schedule on this date to run from 1:30 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. as part of St. Augustine's 450th Commemoration. The extended hours (7.5 hours = 450 minutes!) will give everyone, visitors and locals alike, the opportunity to stop by and browse the amazing selection of art in local galleries throughout the afternoon and evening. There will be live music by local band The House Cats from 3 to 6 p.m.

Featured Exhibits:

Lisa O'Neil's 450 Commemorative painting "Restless Hearts" will be on display at the St. Augustine Art Association. O'Neil's work has also been featured in the Tiberio Gallery. For more info call (904) 824-2310.

Amiro Art & Found will feature Kathryn Carr and her exhibit on German paper cut art. Amiro Art & Design will continue to run the St. Augustine Obelisk Art 450 Project with artists Pablo Hugo Rosado Pena, Xavier Brunet, Wendy Mandel-McDaniel, and Donald Martin. "450 Minutes of Art Walk" will serve as the kickoff event for the Fiesta de Avilés 2015 on Saturday and Sunday, September 5 and 6, 2015.

It's all part of St. Augustine's big birthday bash, Celebrate 450!, with festivities taking place city-wide September 4 - 8, 2015, including a three-day music and street festival with concerts on five stages in the downtown area, fireworks, a Spanish music and dance extravaganza at the Amphitheatre, re-enactments of Pedro Menéndez's 1565 landing, and a commemorative mass at the Cathedral Basilica.

The Art Walk is always free and open to the public.

When? Friday, September 4, 2015, 1:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
