Author Nancy Pellicer Dyer will host book signings on Friday and Saturday, March 6 and 7, 2015, in a couple of locations in historic St. Augustine. She has written two novels about the Minorcan experience in St. Augustine.

Mrs. Dyer is of Minorcan descent and grew up with the stories of her ancestors' struggles in 18th-century St. Augustine. Her Minorcan Series consists of two books, The Minorcan Yoke and The Minorcan Quarter, and explores these struggles in detail, following the Menorcan, Greek, and Italian immigrants from the New Smyrna Colony as they made the harrowing journey to St. Augustine in search of freedom.

Don Francisco Pellicer was the "real-life hero" who led the 600 survivors to St. Augustine. Don Pellicer and his fellow colonists endured brutality, starvation, love, marriage, rivalry, pirates, rebellion, hangings, murder, deadly weather, diseases and death.

Readers will enjoy these treacherous and historically accurate tales of some of St. Augustine's original residents. This book signings give guests the chance to meet Mrs. Dyer and ask her any questions about her novels.
